: a poisonous compound AgCN or Agx(CN)x that is obtained as a white curdy precipitate when a soluble cyanide is added to aqueous solutions of a silver salt and that readily forms complex cyanides (as potassium argentocyanide KAg(CN)2) used in silver plating
